Little White House Press Conference

President Harry Truman at a Press Conference in Key West. The President called press conferences infrequently while at the Little White House. This one lasted only 30 minutes. He read two prepared statements in which he praised the records of his staff and took questions for twenty minutes. Although the frequent attacks from Joseph R. McCarthy contributed to the low rating Truman was then receiving in polls, no questions about the senator appear in the news stories about this press conference. |
