This is a view--at Genoa, Wisconsin, on the Mississippi River,--of a settlement composed entirely of Italians whose principle occupation is fishing. It is the only place on the upper river where nets are used, and is so out of the line of travel, that our photographer was as much an object of curiosity to the colony as was the colony to her.'" |
