Hub Gear
View of a 13 foot diameter hub gear that is a later component of a basic oxygen furnace drive. This gear was purchased and used by the Bethlehem Steel Corporation. Falk caption reads, "This gear was fabricated by Bethlehem Steel Corporation using a continuous forged ring for the rim section. They design this gear from the drawings of the original gear supplied with the Falk unit. The Falk Corporation cut the teeth and lapped this gear only."
