William Rhody, a Falk employee, inspects a 2 piece trunnion. This particular unit was purchased by F.L. Smidth. Original Falk caption reads, "Trunnion-two piece design: both pieces are rough machined. The pieces are separated by two by fours showing the weld scarf before preparations are made for welding the two pieces together. Trunnions hubs: approximate rough weight 16,000 pounds, pattern number DXL-291-1, material ASTM A-27 Gr. 60-30 annealed. Trunnion Flange: approximate rough weight 28,000 pounds, pattern number DXL-291." |
