Experimental Combine
Lee and Gray, International Harvester employees, and Fowler McCormick, looking at an experimental combine (harvester-thresher) in a field. A Farmall tractor is nearby. The original caption reads: "International Harvester engineers and officials are studying the performance of an experimental harvester-thresher, or combine, on a mid-western farm. Harvester machines are never put into commercial production until experimental and "preproduction" models have been exhaustively tested in actual farm operation. This machine is part of the Harvester "caravan" which follows the harvest from south to north." |
