ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
International Harvester Company announced the "Tractorette" program in 1942. The plan was intended to address the farm labor shortage created by U.S. war mobilization. The plan called for local dealers to offer free training for thousands of farm women and girls in the operation of tractors and other farm machinery.
