Annie the Elephant Fund Raiser
Neighborhood children from the 2700 blocks of Van Hise Avenue and Mason Street held a bake sale to raise funds toward the purchase of a replacement for Annie the elephant, who died Feb. 24, 1948, at the Vilas Park Zoo (Henry Vilas Zoo). Shown at the bake sale table, left to right, are Ronnie Quisling, Bennie Hofmeister, David and Dennis Pearson, Charles Radke, Billy Kaeser, and David Hofmeister. |
