The dress was made at the Milwaukee Girls' Trade School (founded in 1909 by Lizzie Kander) in 1910 for Mrs. Berger to wear in Washington, D.C., when she accompanied her husband there for his first term as a US congressman. The dress in this photograph is located in the collections of the Wisconsin Historical Museum (1946.912). |
