Floor Leader 1945, '47, '49. Elected to Senate 1954; reelected 1958, 1962, 1966; now serving 15th legislative session. Chm. Dem. Joint Caucus 1953-69. Committee assignments: 1969-Judiciary (also 1955-1967) and jt. interim Com.; Com. for Review of Admin.
