| Text on back reads, "VALENCIA, A Province and Ancient Kingdom of Spain. Bounded North by Teruel and Castellon de la Plana, East by the Mediterranean, South by Aliante, West by Albacete. The Capital City is Valencia. The country is mountainous in the West, but level and fertile toward the Mediterranean. It is essentially agricultural, but manufactures of various kinds are carried on in the cities. It was settled at an early date by the Phoenicians, but was successively conquered by the Romans, the Goths and the Saracens. The present race is a mixture of the Gothic and Arabic, with the Arabic in the ascendant. They still retain the Arabic customs and dress. The men are robust and grave, the women vivacious and pretty.
