Text on back reads, "BARCELONA, A very fertile Province of Spain in Catalonia, reaching from the Mediterranean Northward to the Pyrenees. Its Capital City, Barcelona, according to native traditions, was founded by Hercules.400 years before Rome. This picture, taken on the spot, represents the costume of the country people of to-day. The people of this acient principality are industrious, intelligent and very proud of their ancient origin. The men as a rule are tall. Both sexes work in the numerous factories. The Singer Manufacturing Co. has an extensive trade here, especially in manufacturing machines." |
