Student Chuan-Yen Liu
Chuan-Yen Liu, a University of Wisconsin graduate student in economics, working at the Truax Field cafeteria. The students at the University of Wisconsin have financial need due to the war in China and the spiral of inflation. Students who were supported by the Nationalist government have had no word concerning their allotments. The Reverend James R. Love, executive secretary of the Madison Council of Churches, inspired the organization to inquire into the need for funds, collect funds, and through the Chinese Student Organization, to determine which students were in need. |
