Women Working In 20 mm Gun Plant
Female factory workers operate lathes at International Harvester's 20 (twenty) millimeter gun plant. Original caption reads: "Women employees have been trained in the Harvester 20 m.m. cannon plant as skillful operators of Jones & Lamson turret lathes. Shown here are six position turrets with a variety of cutting tools. The operations involved on the gun bolt are intricate. Some of the tools are tungsten carbide tip variety. The woman supervisor at the plant is proud of the achievement in training women to operate not only these turret lathes, but broaching, milling and grinding machines as well." |
