Power Units on Display at "100 Years in Chicago" Celebration
Elevated view of various power units and tractors on display at Soldier Field for International Harvester "100 Years in Chicago" celebration. Original caption reads: "Two International Power Units, the UD-9 Diesel, left, and the new UD-14A Diesel, right, are shown in the foreground of this outdoor machine display at International Harvester's '100 Years in Chicago' exhibition. The power units are part of Harvester's complete line of stationary engines for industrial use. At left, background, is a portion of the 'Progress of Agriculture' tent, in which grain harvesting, cotton picking, modern hay baling, corn picking, beet harvesting, milk production, the Farmall System of Farming, the first Farmall and the millionth Farmall, the 1907 International Auto-Wagon, predecessor to the International Truck, the 1,500,000th International Truck, and 1847 and 1947 kitchens are displayed. Soldier Field's colonnades are in center background. The entire exhibition is on an 8-acre site at the south end of Soldier Field." |
