The original caption reads: "Emery Bird Thayer Dry Goods Co. - Shipping Dept. - Parcels are loaded from route compartments into small trucks to go to the loading dock where they are loaded in proper arrangement in delivery trucks." The company was established in the late 1860's and closed in 1968. The building, located on 11th Street, was razed in 1971. |
