The original caption reads: "Prints No. 178-179 and 180 are two side views, and one front view of the McCormick Hand-Binding Harvester of the Marsh type. Built in 1874. Patented C.W. & W.W. Marsh, Dec.7, 1875. This machine embodies the improvement of elevating the grain from the platform to a table, where it was bound by hand." Handwritten on the back of the photograph is "Doc No. 573" and a stamp reads, "McCormick." |
