Interior view of the Neenah Public Library. The library opened in 1904 and was funded with a combined donation of $20,000 from the citizens of Neenah and Andrew Carnegie. Notes in ink on the photograph. Lower left reads: "Interior of the Library at Neenah, Wis," and lower right reads: "Van Ryn & DeGelleke Architects, Milwaukee, Wis." The library has hardwood floors, and chandeliers hang from the tall ceiling. There are freestanding bookshelves as well as bookshelves along the walls. Some have signs for "Fiction" and "Description & Travel." There are two small card catalogs, and a second room is visible with reading tables and chairs. |
