International Pulpwood Special Truck

Men load logs onto the back of an International KBS-6 Pulpwood Special truck in a wooded area. The original caption reads: "The International KBS-6 pulpwood special motor truck is doing a most satisfactory job of hauling in the tough conditions that prevail in this type of work for two owners in the vicinity of Brunswick, Georgia. One of the trucks owned by W.T. Sumler, 1628 Johnson Street, Brunswick, is shown out in the woods, 43 miles south of Brunswick, taking its two loaded pallets. The total load of these two pallets, which are rectangular sleds with a tubular upright at each corner, is two and one-half pulpwood units or about three cords. Mr. Sumler is shown in one of the illustrations supervising the winching of loaded pallets up on the truck over two sled runners fastened to the rear of the truck. The other International KBS-6 pulpwood special motor truck, which is owned by George Sears of Hortense, Georgia, is shown also with a load of two pallets or two an done-half units...plant of the Brunswick Pulp & Paper Company." |
