Acme Laundry Truck

The driver of an International truck owned by Acme Laundry and Cleaners stands in the street near the driver's side door holding packages. The truck is parked in front of the company building. The original caption reads (in part): "One of two International LM-120 trucks with all-steel Metro bodies, recently purchased by the Acme Laundry Company of El Paso, Texas, is shown in front of the firm's attractive building at 905 East Missouri Street. The company has a fleet of 22 trucks, 17 of which are Internationals. It operates 17 laundry routes and 5 towel routes in El Paso and suburbs within a radius of 30 miles. Each truck averages 100 stops a day and travels an average of 35 miles. All trucks are finished in orange and two tones of blue . . . The 9-1/2 foot body also provides convenient arrangement of laundry bundles both in the payload compartment and on the engine cover for fast, efficient delivery and pick-up. The Acme Laundry Company was founded in 1909. B.G. Williams is president; R.L. Davis, Sr., vice president and manager; Jack Inman, Jr., secretary and sales manager; and P.P. Cruey, fleet supervisor." |
