The original caption reads: "Covering installation of PA-40 at the coal mine of Story & McDade on Turkey Run, Cheshire, Ohio. Sold by Miller Garage, Pomeroy, Ohio. Thomas Young, salesman, in doorway and Enos Story on car with pony. Mr. Story stated they run six hours per day, producing 30 tons of coal per day using 10 gallons of gas at 14 cents per gallon. No.17-A Jeffery cutting machine used. This motor, connected with 30-horsepower generator with "V" type belt produces all the power needed and gives the best of satisfaction. Cars are pulled from the mine with ponies. One exterior and two interior views of power house shown. These fellows have no comparative costs with previous methods shown. This was one of the first power units installed in this section on these small operators' properties and has been instrumental in selling others in the locality and has resulted in a very well satisfied customer. Story could not praise it too highly." |
