The original caption reads: "PD-80 Power Unit. Owner, Frank Knaeble, Bena, Minnesota, working five miles south of Bena. 520 acres in this piece, basswood, poplar, and pine, producing 16,000 to 18,000 feet a day, 10 hours. Using 28 to 32 gallons of fuel, 2 quarts oil a day as compared to 50 gallons of gas, 2 gallons cylinder oil in old Case motor previously used. In 618 hours produced 960,000 feet of lumber. You could not give him any other kind of motor for his mill." |
