Original caption reads: "These two pictures were taken at the request of W.H. Lange of the Bark River Culvert & Equipmeny Company, Milwaukee. They show a Hough Payloader powered by an outside make of engine and with a posthole digger in action. Mr. Lang said it was planned to replace the engine with an International." The handwritten word "killed" appears on the upper half of the photograph. International Harvester employees sometimes wrote or stamped the word on prints that the company considered to be "obsolete." |
