Union Troops at Lawler Hall

Union troops at Lawler Hall which was used as a U.S. military hospital during the Civil War. Originally built as the Brisbois Hotel in 1857, it was given for use as a beginning for a College of Prairie du Chien, which failed. It would later go on to become a Companion College in 1880. Finally in 1955, the building was abandoned as unsafe. |
