Jethro Coffin Home Living Room

View of living room in Jethro Coffin home. Jethro Coffin was a blacksmith and the grandson of one of the island's first white settlers, Tristam Coffin. Built in 1686 the house remains the oldest house on Nantucket. The room features a brick fireplace, two spinning wheels, a small rug, a wooden chair, a Shaker-style chair and a child's chair. A rifle is above the fireplace, and there is a kettle in the fireplace as well as some other tools nearby. |
