This bridge over Hillobee Creek, Tallapoosa Co., Ala. near Alexander City was in bad shape and it was thought by all the commissioners except one that it would have to be torn down and a new one built to cost $12,000.00, but this one commissioner was not satisfied and through his interest persuaded the commissioners to have an expert bridgeman come and see if the old one could be repaired. It was found it could be and the bridge was made good as new for $2000 saving to (sic) county $10,000.00." Photograph taken for International Harvester's Agricultural Extension Department.
