The Union Forever

An intricate design. A blue line frames a background of red horizontal stripes. Inside an ornate border, two figures stand on the left and right. The left hand figure is a revolutionary soldier holding the Constitution in his left hand and a rifle in his right. Above him is the date "1776" and the word "SECURED." The right hand figure is a Zouave soldier holding a rifle and a sword. Above him is the date "1861" and the word "DEFENDED." At the top is a blue field with white stars and the words "The UNION," below that the word "FOREVER." At the bottom is a federal shield with guns, bayonets, swords, cannons and cannonballs behind it. In the center are three red lines for the mailing address. Blue and red ink on beige envelope, image covers entire front. Image printed on envelope, mounted on various colored pages and collected in an album. |
