This photograph originally appeared in the November/December 1959 issue of "International Harvester World" magazine on page 19. The original captions read: "Skelton on stage meant full house in Statler-Hilton ballroom. Scene is 1959 convention of American Trucking Associations in Los Angeles. IH luncheon is traditional opening-day feature at the ATA meet" and "SOCIAL NOTE: International Harvester had 1,1,35 folks in for lunch the other day and brought in an actor-fellow to liven things up. Fellow did a passable job, it turns out. Had 'em laughing hard, real hard, most of the time, but had 'em crying, too! And when he got all through - must have been eighty, ninety minutes he was standing there cuttin' up - they jumped to their feet, all 1,135 of 'em, and like to ripped the roof off with their cheering and clapping. You had to be there. (Editor's Note: Harvester World cameras were there. See next page for the actor-fellow in action)." |
