The handwritten text on the back of the photograph reads, "Dear Mamma: -- Some months ago having gotten practically nothing for myself, I took the idea from my mind to furnish my room, which I did. It's all black, white and a soft old yellow. The young man who helped me asked to have a photograph of it taken and I sent you one. Lovingly, your son, --Harold--. July 6 - 1916." |
