As the original design contractor, working in cooperation with the development engineers of the Detroit Arsenal, International Harvester developed and produced the first M-39 series units. As the principal producer under Army Ordnance contracts, International Harvester is continuing to redesign and effect engineering changes for improved functional operation of these vehicles.
