Crest from Reynolds Escutcheons of Military and Naval Service

Crest created by Reynolds Escutcheons of Military and Naval Service to commemorate the 8th Wisconsin Infantry. The crest has the seal of Wisconsin and an eagle at the top with "E Pluribus Unum". The eagle also has a "Union" shield around its neck. The bottom banner has written on it "War Eagle" and "Old Abe". The crest also includes pictures of a bugle, a scroll of paper and three other items. The cross-like shape in the middle has a list of battles under the heading: "Carried on his perch through the following battles". |
