The original tyepwritten caption reads: "Kitchen Katch-all. If farm women gave a little more time and thought to the equipment in their kitchen much of the so-called drudgery would be eliminated. A sanitary garbage pail in the home of Miss Lella Gaddis of Tippecanoe County, Indiana, lightens the work materially, does away with small particles of food in the sink which often cause trouble and consequently plumbers bills. The aluminum container shown in the picture is attached by a small rod to the drain pipe leading from the sink. When not in use it is pushed under the sink where it is out of the way. The pail can be lifted out, contents of the inside perforated vessel emptied in a paper and burned or into the larger garbage pail. The liquid can be poured from the outside vessel, the pail scalded and kept clean and sanitary. 'This has proven far more satisfactory to us than the garbage container commonly placed in the sink, and therefore makes the sink much harder to keep clean,' said Miss Gaddis." |
