Christian Ruste
Waist-up oval studio portrait of Christian Ruste, a private in Company E, 15th Wisconsin Infantry in uniform. The following information was obtained from the Regimental and Descriptive Rolls, Volume 20: He resided in Blue Mounds, Wisconsin. On January 8, 1862, he enlisted at Camp Randall in Madison, Wisconsin and was mustered into service in Madison, Wisconsin on January 11, 1862, at the age of 17. He died on May 2, 1862, at Island No. 10 (Tennessee) of Typhoid fever. |
