Three-quarter length oval studio portrait of Lewis Anderson, a private in Company G, 15th Wisconsin Infantry. The following information was obtained from the Regimental and Descriptive Rolls, Volume 20: He resided in Martell, Wisconsin. On December 5, 1861, he enlisted in Martell, Wisconsin and was mustered into service in Madison, Wisconsin on December 13, 1861, at the age of 41. Due to chronic diarrhea, he was discharged from service for disability on September 20, 1864, from Harvey Hospital in Madison, Wisconsin. |
