Jesus is hanging on the cross, while a soldier wearing armor points at him. Other soldiers are present, some riding horses. A group of people on the right mourn the death of Christ. This photograph was taken in a series of 15 photographs of a Cyclorama of the Crucifixion. This Cyclorama exhibited at the World's Columbian Exposition (Chicago World's Fair)[?]. The text on the photograph refers to the exhibit as the "Chicago Panorama of the Crucifixion." The Cyclorama is very similar in appearance to the "Jerusalem on the Day of the Crucifixion" by Bruno Piglhein. |
