Fall River Canning Company Posting to Striking Workers

Close-up of a notice posted by the Fall River Canning Company in response to striking workers. The left notice is posted in English and on the right is Spanish. It identifies workers who walked off the job to strike, notifies them that they are fired and must vacate the premises and camp. It also warns other workers that they will receive the same treatment if they follow suit. Someone has written on them "Puro" "cheat" possibly a Spanish-English mix of the Mexican-Spanish phrase "pura mentira" which means "pure lies" in English. |
