Additional information provided by Don Thies, April 2012: Date Taken: March 21, 1971 I Corp Vietnam on ridge line overlooking FSB Vandegrift to the left of the subjects. Where: I Corp Vietnam on ridge line overlooking FSB Vandegrift to the left of the soldiers. In the background are the land formations known as the “Rockpile” and “Razor Back”. These two land features were places GI’s didn’t really want to be around due to heavy NVA concentrations.
