Theodore K. Hundeby
Head and shoulders oval studio portrait of Theodore K. Hundeby, a sergeant in Company K, 15th Wisconsin Infantry. The following information was obtained from the Regimental and Descriptive Rolls, Volume 20: He resided in Worth, Iowa. On December 11, 1861, he enlisted in Worth, Iowa and on February 11, 1862, he was mustered into service in Madison, Wisconsin at the age of 19. He was appointed as a wagoner on February 18, 1862. On October 27, 1862, he was detached on Provost Marshall duty. In December 1862, he was wounded slightly during the battle near Stone River, Tennessee. From February to May 1863, he was detached as a nurse in Nashville, Tennessee. From November 1863 to May 1864, he was absent for recruiting service. On June 20, 1864, he was wounded slightly in the head during fighting near Bald Knob, Georgia. On September 1, 1864, he was appointed sergeant. He was mustered out of service with Company K on February 10, 1865, at Chattanooga, Tennessee. |
