The original typewritten caption reads: "International DR-60 motor truck owned by Lewis Lumber Company, Dexter, Oregon. This truck is shown pulling a Walker trailer hauling logs eight miles from the Woodston Mill. It travels over five miles of plank road and three miles of gravel road. Six trips per eight hours. The truck runs on 22 gallons of gasoline per day and eight quarts of oil changed every 60 hours. Cost sheets show that operating costs are $1.10 per mile including gasoline, oil, labor and depreciation." |
