Map or Atlas
Wisconsin
In 1847, a year before Wisconsin entered statehood, most of the county shapes in southeastern and southern Wisconsin looked the same as they do today, whereas middle and northern Wisconsin were still carved into larger provinces including Crawford, Menomonee, Winnebago and St. Croix. This colored map shows county boundaries, rivers, and lakes of that year. |
