The Balsams Cottage at Nature Lovers Paradise
Exterior view of a cottage with a front porch surrounded by small trees, part of the Nature Lovers Paradise on Jackson Lake near Grand View. Text under the photograph says, "The BALSMS – Some resorts have their ground all parked out with lawn grass; and instead of thinking you are in the north woods you think you are in some city park. Not so with ours. We just cleaned the brush away enough to permit walking, and left it just as nature provided it – there are plenty of rocks, stumps, logs, etc. left so a person cant walk around with their eyes shut --- but if you want the wild life you can't get it living on a golf green." Located within the Chequamegon National Forest, Jackson Lake is a 142-acre drainage lake with a navigable outlet channel to Namakagon Lake – which is a 3,227 acre drainage lake at the headwaters of the Namakagon River in Bayfield County. |
