This brightly-colored map shows townships, county towns, and villages of Wisconsin. It also shows rivers, rapids, canals, railroads, and plank roads. Statistics of each county's 1840 and 1850 population, farms, and productive establishments are listed in the top left corner of the map, along with a chart showing the state's white, free Black, slave, and total population in the two respective years.
