Map Showing the Surficial Deposits of Southeastern Wisconsin
A geological survey map that map of southeastern Wisconsin shows the surface deposits east of the Wisconsin River, from the Illinois state line north to Necedah and Oshkosh. The map depicts various deposits including marsh deposits, dune sand, alluvium, terraces formed by waters of Nipissing Great Lakes and its tributary streams, beach sand and gravel, red glacial drift, terminal moraines, channels of abandoned outlets of glacial waters, lower terraces of outwash sand and gravel, eskers, interlobate morainal deposits of the Green Bay and Lake Michigan glaciers, drumlins, and driftless areas. Counties, cities and villages, lakes, streams, and railroads are identified. |
