Part of the promotional materials created by the Wisconsin Central Railroad Company Land Commissioner to publicize the sale of land in northern Wisconsin, primarily in Price, Taylor, and Ashland counties, owned by the railroad, circa 1895. One side of the card has illustrations of farming conditions, crops, forest resources, homesteads, small towns, and rural scenes in northern Wisconsin. A number of the illustrations are from photographs made by Harvey J. Perkins for "Northern Wisconsin: a hand-book for the homeseeker" and "Hand book of Price County." The reverse side of the card has text touting the abundance of resources available in northern Wisconsin, some of which was taken from "Northern Wisconsin: a hand-book for the homeseeker," edited by William A. Henry. This image appears on page 8 of "Hand book of Price County," a promotional document published by the Board of Imagination with support from Frederick Abbot, land commissioner at the Wisconsin Central Railroad Company in Milwaukee.
