Handwritten on reverse, "Mound at Round Lake, 5 miles west of Frederic, Wis. 60 feet across the base - 6 feet high - has been much higher. A banks 3 feet high runs out on the west side 45 feet. Both bank and mound are full of bones. Some of which are burned but none broken. This mound should be preserved. Made of black ground. F.O. Hendricks, Frederic, Wis." |
