Athletes For The President
A President Nixon re-election poster with approximately 360 signatures of athletes (appearing in alphabetical order) on it. At the top of the poster is the text, "Performing under pressure... the mark of a professional." Next appears a photograph of President Nixon and George Herbert Allen, the coach of the Washington Redskins. To the right it reads, "President Nixon came to office faced with a war overseas, racial strife and rioting and serious economic problems at home. Today Americans are talking of how he is ending those problems, and working to end their causes as well. That kind of performance, against those kinds of odds in a calm, professional way is why we support President Nixon. Now more than ever." Below appear the signatures. At the foot is the text, "Athletes For The President." |
