The text on the advertisement reads: "Hauling 560 ton-miles of road materials at 9 cents a ton-mile - taking a 50-ton load of supplies 30 miles out on the oil field - skidding, loading and hauling in three 5,000-foot loads of green logs over a seven mile trail - plowing 20 acres of tough sod and turning it under 7 inches deep - discing, harrowing and seeding 30 acres of wheat - these are a few of the day's work records made in the past few months by the 'Caterpillar' tractor. That's the kind of tractor to sell, and no man yet knows where to set the limit of the 'Caterpillar' market." |
