One test of sympathy for a white person of prestige or importance was to see if he would come to the office for a visit. The COFO (Council of Federated Organizations) office was across the street, the NAACP (National Association for the Advancement of Colored People) next door, and the FDP (Freedom Democratic Party) around the corner from the D.M. (Delta Ministry). To the back of the office, provisions were made for sleeping 14 D.M. (Delta Ministry) workers on occasion other Freedom Movement workers."<p>"Bob, a Presbyterian minister, is not allowed to join the white Presbyterian church in Hattiesburg.  His children were denied continued enrollment in the church nursery school after their father's actions became known."
