Summit Fourth Sunday Church
A church building photographed by a civil rights volunteer. "The 4th Sunday church of Summit. Rev. Ned Taylor, pastor. After church, Rev. Taylor invited Steve Barber and me for a delicious Sunday dinner. Rev. Taylor is also pastor of the bombed Society Hill Baptist Church (McComb). We purposely went to the Negro churches on Sundays because we worked in the Negro sections during the week. For the older Negroes, the fight for freedom and their deep religious faith are rarely separated." |
