This 12-block district of two- and three-story buildings, constructed between 1848 and 1938, includes the civil war monument in the public square. The 68 historic buildings, representing the growth of Racine, were designed by leading architects in Italianate, Gothic Revival, Queen Anne, Richardsonian Romanesque, Prairie School, and Art Dace styles.
