This rural site of religious pilgrimages consists of: the shrine of Mary, Help of Christians (1926, Romanesque Revival church); two monasteries, built in 1920 and 1938 in Romanesque Revival style; a cemetery; an entrance arch (1914) to the Via Crucis or stations of the cross, which are life-sized sculptures created between 1914 and 1928 by sculptor Joseph Aszklar; and the Lourdes Grotto (1932). The district is owned and maintained by the Discalced Carmelite Fathers. |
